We are sorry to share the sad news that Bill Nash, who many will know passed away on Monday 27th December.

He was well known across London’s Magistrates’ Courts and Crown Courts as a fearless advocate always happy to offer his advice and counsel to a junior lawyers.

Sadly for Bill his aim of retiring in October 2021 after the remarkable achievement of completing his 50th practicing certificate was undermined by the sudden and short illness over the summer.

Bill started his career as legal officer at The National Council of Civil Liberties ( now Liberty ) between 1973 and 1976 before founding Nash and Dowell on 7 Sisters’ Rd between 1980 and 2005. He joined BSB Solicitors as a consultant in 2013 where he continued to service his loyal client base.

We were fortunate to gather on zoom with Bill and other colleagues two months ago to toast his career upon his retirement and share our memories with him . Characteristically on this occasion held court with a selection of anecdotes from his colorful career.

He will be missed by colleagues, clients, friends and his two children.
