Solicitor Advocate James Skelsey represented a woman in her forties who was seen street dealing by the police and subsequently found to be in possession of 52 bags of cocaine, 48 bags of cannabis, over £1,000 in cash and 3 mobile phones one of which did not stop ringing until it was switched off later by the police.
A lengthy prison sentence seemed inevitable but relying upon case authorities of R v Mills, R V Bishop and R v Williams Mr Skelsey was able to persuade the Court that a sentence of 51 weeks imprisonment could be suspended for 2 years thus securing her immediate release.
